I am happy to introduce myself as your principal here at Rosemont High School. We are working hard to make Rosemont High the school that you dream of attending and from which you will graduate with pride. I am very fond of each of our academies: Green Academy is for you if you want to change the world and I think that needs to happen in a lot of ways, starting with the decisions that we make regarding our environment and the expertise that we have to have in order to care for our planet and all who live on it. Creative and Performing Arts is also dear to me; we are all stars in our own way and what a wonderful vehicle for expressing talent and getting out any message that we think needs to be heard! LEAD – Leadership and Enrichment through Academic Development is necessary in order to prepare the leaders that will govern the future. I think we can all agree that we need great leaders. I would say that the main thing about being in school and learning is to become and to remain unrelentingly curious about everything. I invite you to come to Rosemont High School and learn something. Be smarter when you leave than when you got here. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Having the good fortune of working as an administrator at Rosemont High School is like a dream for me. Entering my eighth year here, I set out every day to improve instruction, promote consistency among staff and students, and make Rosemont the safe, productive, and exceptional school I envision it to be. I firmly believe our school offers something for everyone, whether it is hands-on learning in our Green garden, community service projects in the LEAD Academy, rich and challenging content in our Advanced Placement classes, rallies that promote school spirit in Student Government, or perfect execution of the playbook for Coach Wanlin’s football team. It is my goal to work closely with parents, students, Rosemont staff, and community members to serve the school, all the while improving personally and professionally. My office is always open, so please do not hesitate to contact me.

As we begin the 2012-2013 school year, I am tremendously excited to begin working as the new Assistant Principal of Rosemont High School. After over thirty years of teaching and learning both in the classroom and through sports, I welcome the privilege and opportunity to implement the school’s vision of preparing young people for a constantly-changing future. My focus this year will be working with students and staff to develop and refine a strong work ethic that emphasizes personal responsibility and positive communication skills. I envision a campus in which students and staff collaborate to create the optimum environment in which teaching and learning is ongoing, from the time students walk onto our campus until they leave for the world of college or career.
